Having the ability to play my collection of SoundFont files on my iPad or iPod or iPhone is a dream come true. This app is great! I use it live with a custom Rhodes soundfont through FX using Audiobus... People love it! If you are a fan of soundfonts, Get this app!

Great app. The ability to get sound fonts on here is awesome. However, the polyphony really lacks A LOT!!!!! Such a good wasted app. Cant use live until the polyphony comes WAAAAYYYYY UP!!!!!

This is by far the best midi controller app that I have ever used. It far surpasses anything else thats out there. Its pretty simple to use, and has great sounds. Im also appreciative of the fact that you can load sounds in addition to the preloaded sounds. If there is one criticism, it is that theres no way to split the keyboard with Sam. In other words I would like to have bass in my left hand, and some melody or chording sound in my right hand.

Only wish one could MIDI-learn the controls like frequency and Q. However very nice sound and extremely low latency. Surprisingly good acoustic piano rivals and even surpasses some dedicated piano apps. Fantastic strings, brass, and drums. And it all works very smooth on older hardware...iPad2 with Alesis I/O Dock in my case. Update with MIDI-learn, and the fifth star gets lit.

This is one of my favorite go-to sampler/soundfont player apps. Ive tried Sampletank, Sound Canvas, countless other miscellaneous samplers and all the soundfont player apps..bs-16i still remains my number one, thanks to: -superb velocity sensitivity even without external midi controllers, the accelerometer response is top notch. One of the best Ive seen *across* keyboard apps. Yes, it beats GarageBand hands down on this. -beautiful selection of default soundfonts. Honestly Ive tried the Miroslav from Sampletank and many other string sections but nothing beats "Stereo strings Fast" for me to get into the zone with some Zimmer-esque aggressive string action. -the easy to use multitimbral mapping means that it plays *very* nicely with virtual MIDI and projects Ive got going on in my DAWs. For example fiddlewax+bs-16i=instant orchestral layering bliss -And of course adding your own soundfonts is a breeze, though its hard to beat the stellar collection the dev had put together. Whats more it perfectly complements (sonically speaking) my other favorite sampler Thumbjam, Ive often found myself using them as controllers/sound palettes for each other. Lovely stuff, kudos!

Hello. I am here to inform you about a major bug I have encountered that needs to be addressed and fixed as soon as possible! I played the midi file on the devices own midi playback and pushed "stop", only for the midi tape to start playing from the beginning again. It is impossible to stop the midi unless you close the app, and, well, it really gets annoying. Please fix this bug and I will give your app 5 stars.

Im loving the added polyphony , but to be honest, I HATE the new interface, now all this animating screens in and out just slow everything down, imo that was a bad, bad idea. It was a five star app for me before.

This app sounds fantastic!! The developer has continually improved and supported this program since releasing it several years ago. He has been quick to respond whenever Ive had a question. It supports all of the important technologies (IAA/Audiobus), and the MIDI works great!! This is an essential app for my music arsenal!! HIGHLY recommended!!!!

Dont let the "sound font" thing scare you. This is a Keyboard that lets you download any sound you want into it to play via the sound font files that are available all over the web. Lots of them are free. The instruments that are already on the app are terrific, but you can add anything else you want, unlike most other apps. Ive downloaded some great sounding Pianos, Violins, and Bass sounds into this app and it was easy and free and sounded amazing.This app is worth it!

I use this everyday. It is an invaluable workhorse.

I sampled my favorite instruments: Kurzweil Piano, 01/w ep, Wavestation Strings AN1x brass, Voce Organs and Moog Solo Synths I converted, edited and imported them into one 200mb soundfont. The app plays them perfectly! Program changes load with little delay! I can layer programs in the app and i can add effects with Audiobus! I have used this on my iPhone with a usb controller for rehearsals in the city and as an emergency backup to my hardware rig. To conserve power, I use a powered USB controller instead of a USB midi interface. Thank you, bs16i!

Thank you bs16i! I sampled all of my favorite instruments: Kurzweil piano 01/w ep and clav Wavestation Pads AN1x Brass Voce Organs Moog solo I edited and merged them into one 200mb soundfont. The app plays them perfectly on my iPhone! Program changes are fast and layers are easy. I can add Audiobus effects. I use this with a camera kit and a usb controller for rehearsals in the city. I also use it as an emergency backup to my hardware rig. I use a powered usb controller to save battery. Thank you again bs16i!
